Axelar connects supported networks through a proof-of-stake interoperability network. The route through Axelar uses validator threshold cryptography, wrapped or canonical assets, and General Message Passing; execution through Axelar proceeds only after verification. Operational workflows in Axelar include bridge relayer infrastructure, Axelar Gateway contracts, and interchain token service. Contract upgrades and new routes belong under Axelar; outages, exploits or recovery work at Axelar stay here when validator threshold cryptography changes. Assets moved by Axelar keep their own tags; use this entry for the cross-chain protocol rather than the asset itself.
