Ethereum Name Service
1 storyEthereum Name Service is an Ethereum naming and identity protocol that maps readable names to wallet addresses and other records. Its contracts support registration and renewal, resolvers, reverse records, subnames, wrapped names, ownership transfers, and decentralized website references. Coverage should examine contract upgrades, pricing and renewal rules, resolver behavior, DAO governance, integrations, security, and changes affecting how names are issued or resolved. Individual ENS names and their owners are not the protocol, while general Ethereum upgrades belong elsewhere unless they alter Ethereum Name Service.
ENSv2 would make .eth migration irreversible
ENS's proposed upgrade would make domain migration permanent and change fees and expiry rules. Holders can stay on ENSv1, but renewal arrangements during the transition remain unclear.
