Toncoin

Toncoin is the former name and ticker used for the native currency of The Open Network before the community-approved 2026 rebrand to Gram. The asset paid network fees, supported proof-of-stake validation and nomination, and served applications, payments, storage, DNS, and other services across the TON ecosystem. This historical tag should be used for articles, exchange records, contracts, and market references that specifically use the Toncoin or TON identity before or during the transition. Current token coverage belongs under Gram, while The Open Network remains a separate network tag because the rename changed the asset's branding rather than its underlying blockchain or balances.
