Story Selection and Prioritization

Stories may receive greater editorial priority when they:

• Are directly relevant to cryptocurrency, blockchain technology or digital-asset markets
• Have practical or public-interest value
• Are timely or connected to a significant development
• Can be supported by identifiable and reliable sources
• Explain a difficult subject clearly
• Correct a common misunderstanding
• Reveal material fees, restrictions, risks or conflicts
• Affect users’ access to funds, assets, wallets or services
• Reflect a meaningful change in technology, regulation or market structure

Editorial relevance is assessed in relation to reader value rather than attention alone. A widely discussed development may receive limited coverage when it adds little verifiable information, while a less visible change may deserve attention when it materially affects fees, access, security, regulation or the operation of a product.

Accuracy and Verification

Editors should review material factual claims before publication using sources appropriate to the subject. The level of verification should reflect the potential impact of the claim.

Sources may include:

• Official documents, filings, court records and regulatory publications
• Company, exchange and protocol documentation
• Blockchain explorers and public on-chain data
• Public code repositories and technical documentation
• Exchange notices, fee schedules and product terms
• Recognized cryptocurrency market-data providers
• Research from identifiable institutions
• Qualified and attributable experts
• Reputable specialist or general publications as secondary context

A source that is appropriate for one claim may not be sufficient for another. A blockchain transaction may confirm that funds moved, for example, but may not establish the identity, motive or ownership behind an address.

Verification is proportional to the claim. Routine descriptive details may require straightforward confirmation, while allegations, security claims, financial statements or conclusions that could affect reputation or reader decisions require stronger support and more careful wording.

Company, Protocol and Promotional Claims

Company announcements, protocol statements and press releases may be newsworthy, but they should be attributed to the organization making the claim.

Statements involving adoption, security, reserves, performance, yield, partnerships, regulatory status or product availability may require independent supporting evidence before being presented as established facts.

Marketing descriptions such as “secure,” “fully backed,” “institutional-grade,” “risk-free” or “guaranteed” should not be repeated without context and evidence.

Sourcing and Attribution

EgonCoin prefers named and on-the-record sources whenever reasonably possible. Readers should be able to understand where important claims originated and why a source may be in a position to know the information.

Direct quotations must not be fabricated, materially altered or attributed to people who did not make them. Quotations may be edited for minor clarity only when the meaning remains unchanged and the format is transparent.

Anonymous sources are used rarely and only under the conditions described in the Unnamed Sources Policy. The responsible editor must know the source’s identity, understand the reason for anonymity and evaluate the need for corroboration.

Attribution should allow readers to understand whether information comes from an independent record, a party directly involved in the subject, an expert interpretation or a commercial claim. Clear attribution is part of accuracy because it prevents a source’s position from being mistaken for an established conclusion.

News, Analysis and Opinion

News reporting should distinguish verified facts from allegations, forecasts, company statements, social-media claims and editorial interpretation.

Analysis may connect data, documents and events through editorial reasoning. Relevant assumptions, limitations and uncertainty should be clear enough for readers to understand how the conclusion was reached.

Opinion, commentary or first-person analysis should be identified when the format could otherwise be mistaken for straight news. An author’s opinion does not automatically represent the position of every EgonCoin editor.

The distinction between these formats is not only a label. It determines how certainty is expressed, how evidence is presented and how much editorial interpretation a reader should expect.

Headlines, Images and Presentation

Headlines should accurately reflect the substance of an article and should not create certainty that the reporting does not support.

Images, charts, screenshots and captions should not misrepresent an event or product. AI-generated illustrations, when used, must be clearly non-documentary and must not be presented as photographic evidence.

Charts and data visualizations should identify relevant sources and time periods when those details materially affect interpretation.

Presentation should reflect the substance of the article. Headlines and images should not create a stronger impression of certainty, scale, urgency or real-world evidence than the reporting itself supports.

Reviews, Comparisons and Rankings

Reviews and rankings should use criteria relevant to the product or service being evaluated. Depending on the category, those criteria may include fees, functionality, supported assets, security information, custody structure, geographic availability, regulatory disclosures, withdrawal conditions, documentation and product limitations.

A review should not imply that every feature was personally tested when the evaluation relied primarily on documentation or public data.

Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position. Advertisers, product providers and partners cannot purchase a favorable score, positive conclusion, higher ranking or correction outcome.

Advertising and Commercial Separation

EgonCoin may display programmatic advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising relationships do not determine editorial assignments, headlines, conclusions, reviews, rankings or corrections.

Programmatic advertisements may be selected by third-party systems. The appearance of an advertisement does not constitute editorial endorsement of the advertiser, token, exchange, wallet or product.

Sponsored content is not currently confirmed as an active standard format. If it is introduced, it must be clearly labeled and separated from independent editorial coverage.

Affiliate links are not currently identified as an active revenue model. If affiliate relationships are introduced, material relationships should be disclosed and must not determine editorial conclusions.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors and contributors should disclose material financial, professional or personal interests that could reasonably affect their coverage.

A relevant conflict may require reassignment, additional editorial review or a visible disclosure. Contributors must not use unpublished editorial information for trading, market manipulation or personal financial advantage.

Gifts, travel, product access or other benefits should not purchase favorable coverage. Where a product was supplied for testing, that fact should be disclosed when it is material to reader understanding.

Fairness and Right of Response

People and organizations facing serious factual allegations may be given a reasonable opportunity to respond when practical and appropriate.

A response does not provide advance approval rights or a veto over publication. A refusal to comment does not automatically prevent publication when the reporting is otherwise sufficiently supported.

Privacy, Security and Avoidable Harm

EgonCoin avoids publishing private keys, wallet seed phrases, account credentials or unnecessary personal information that could expose a person to fraud, harassment or additional harm.

Public interest, relevance and evidentiary value should be considered before publishing sensitive personal or security information.

Artificial Intelligence

EgonCoin does not use AI to draft editorial articles, fabricate sources, invent quotations, create credentials, translate articles, produce summaries, monitor sources autonomously or make publication decisions.

AI may occasionally be used for clearly non-documentary illustrations under human editorial control. Human editors remain responsible for sourcing, verification, writing, editing and publication.
