AI Use Policy
Understand EgonCoin’s limited use of AI, prohibited uses and the human editorial controls applied to all published material.
EgonCoin uses artificial intelligence only in limited circumstances and maintains human editorial responsibility for all published content.
This policy explains what uses are currently permitted, what uses are not part of EgonCoin’s editorial process and how readers may report concerns.
Current AI Use
AI may occasionally be used to create clearly non-documentary illustrations or visual concepts.
AI-generated illustrations must not be presented as photographic evidence, documentary imagery, a screenshot of a real product or proof that a real event occurred.
Where the nature of an illustration could reasonably confuse readers, the presentation should make clear that the image is illustrative rather than documentary.
The limited use described here concerns visual illustration rather than the transfer of editorial authorship. The purpose of the disclosure is to help readers distinguish an illustrative image from documentary evidence.
Uses Not Currently Permitted
EgonCoin does not currently use AI for:
- Drafting editorial articles
- Rewriting articles for publication
- Translating editorial content
- Creating article summaries
- Autonomous source monitoring
- Automated fact-checking without human review
- Making publication or correction decisions
- Inventing people, credentials, affiliations or biographies
- Fabricating sources or quotations
- Creating fake documents, screenshots or evidence
- Generating personalized investment, legal, tax, medical or security advice
These limits protect the traceability of the editorial record. Readers should be able to connect published claims, quotations and conclusions to reviewable sources and accountable human decisions.
Human Editorial Control
Human editors remain responsible for:
- Story selection
- Source selection and review
- Fact-checking
- Writing and editing
- Headlines and captions
- Analysis and conclusions
- Corrections and updates
- Publication, removal and retraction decisions
An AI system does not receive editorial credit as an author or editor.
Human control includes responsibility for deciding whether information is relevant, sufficiently supported and presented in proportion to the evidence. A tool may not assume responsibility for those judgments.
Sources, Quotes and Evidence
AI output is not treated as a factual source.
Quotations must come from identifiable interviews, recordings, transcripts, documents or other verifiable material. AI must not be used to create a quotation and attribute it to a real or fictional person.
AI must not be used to invent regulatory documents, research papers, audit findings, transaction records, product features or credentials.
A plausible AI-generated statement is not evidence. Information must still be supported by the same kinds of sources that would be required if no AI tool were involved.
Illustrations and Image Integrity
An AI-generated illustration should support understanding or visual presentation without creating false documentary meaning.
It should not imitate a real person in a misleading context, fabricate a security incident, create a false product interface or imply that an exchange, company or regulator issued a document that does not exist.
Documentary photographs, screenshots and charts should remain distinguishable from illustrations.
An illustration should not imply that a depicted person, place, product interface or event was directly observed when it was not. Context and presentation should prevent a reasonable reader from mistaking synthesis for documentation.
Financial and Other High-Impact Content
AI-generated output must not be used to provide personalized medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, mental health, cybersecurity or other professional advice.
EgonCoin does not use AI to generate guaranteed investment outcomes, price predictions presented as certain, security assurances or regulatory conclusions.
Confidential and Personal Information
Private source information, unpublished credentials, wallet keys, seed phrases, passwords or other sensitive information should not be entered into an AI system as part of EgonCoin’s editorial process.
Errors and Corrections
The use of an AI-assisted illustration does not reduce EgonCoin’s responsibility to correct a misleading caption, attribution or representation.
Concerns about factual accuracy should be sent to corrections@egoncoin.com.
The use of an AI-assisted illustration does not change the correction standard. A misleading caption, false implication or inaccurate accompanying statement remains subject to review and correction.
Changes to AI Practices
If EgonCoin expands or changes its use of AI, this policy and related editorial disclosures should be updated to reflect actual practice.
The publication should not claim that a use is prohibited if it has become part of the active workflow without first updating this policy.
