Gate WCTC S9 registration runs through October 26. Five-person teams become fixed, and trading scores count only during the later competition window.
The captain loses the power to disband a team once its fifth member joins. Team members cannot leave, either, making the final slot a consequential choice.
Gate's English S9 announcement sets registration from October 9, 2026, at 08:00 through October 26 at 08:00 UTC. The competition runs from October 26, 2026, at 08:00 through November 25 at 08:00 UTC. These are separate windows. Visiting the event page and clicking to participate automatically registers an eligible account, but only valid activity after successful registration counts during the competition period. That timing applies to Team and Individual scores, as well as PK results.
Registration is through the spot trading walkthrough.
WCTC S9 is Gate's ninth global trading competition. Its tracks span spot trading and ETFs, plus conversion, stocks, futures, CFDs, TradFi and event contracts. The advertised combined prize pool is up to 6 million USDT, with the final amount subject to the number of valid participants. Up to 3.2 million USDT is allocated to the team competition. The individual competition offers up to 400,000 USDT, according to Gate's competition overview.
Team rankings use weighted total trading volume, CFD trading volume and return. Gate divides the team prize pool between the first and second halves of the competition. To have weighted volume counted, a participant must register and generate at least 5,000 USDT in cumulative weighted trading volume during the competition. Registration alone does not qualify a trader for a volume ranking or reward.
The eligibility rules bar API users and accounts at VIP 15 or above. Market makers are excluded, along with corporate and institutional accounts. Subaccounts are also ineligible. Accounts tied to one verified identity count as a single participant, and subaccount volume generally does not count toward the main account. Winners must complete identity verification to receive a reward.
PK runs separately from the volume and return rankings. It uses five-minute BTC/USDT price-direction rounds within 30-minute cycles. Standings depend on wins and accumulated points, not team volume or CFD measures.
More than 21,000 applications came in and 2,454 teams formed during the first 24 hours of registration, according to Odaily's report. Those figures capture early sign-ups; qualification and rewards depend on valid trading during the main competition and the rules for each track.
