AIxCrypto Holdings saw its cash reserves plunge from $19.3 million to just $577,000 in six months after risky crypto trades and a $12 million investment in Faraday Future, leaving its robot-rental marketplace and equity facility still unproven

AIxCrypto Holdings, a pre-revenue startup aiming to build a robot-rental marketplace while holding a portfolio of digital assets, ended June with just $577,328 in cash-down 97% from $19.33 million at the end of last year. The company's main path to generating revenue, a pilot of its RoboShare marketplace in Los Angeles, remained in preparation as of early August, with no confirmed launch date or recognized revenue.

Crypto Losses and EV Investment

According to company filings, AIxCrypto reported a net loss of $10.27 million for the first half of the year, with $7.94 million in cash consumed by operations. The company's cash position was further depleted by a $12 million outflow to purchase securities in Faraday Future, an electric vehicle manufacturer that AIxCrypto identifies as its controlling majority stockholder. The investment, made through an arrangement with Gold King Arthur Holding Limited, included $500,000 in Class A common stock and $11.5 million in Series C preferred stock. This allocation was not a typical portfolio investment but rather a transfer to the company that controls AIxCrypto itself.

Digital Asset Volatility

AIxCrypto's digital asset holdings also suffered. The fair value of its crypto portfolio dropped from $10.25 million at year-end to $5.21 million by June 30, with a $2.93 million net loss on digital assets during the period. Bitcoin made up about 52% of the portfolio, or $2.70 million, leaving the rest exposed to broader crypto market swings. The company recorded $2.11 million in proceeds from digital asset sales, but these were not enough to offset realized and unrealized losses.

Funding Uncertainty and Dilution Risk

With no outstanding debt for borrowed money, AIxCrypto's current liabilities still reached $1.72 million at the end of June-nearly triple its remaining cash. The company announced a common-stock purchase agreement that could theoretically provide up to $50 million in new funding, but this facility is conditional and subject to market conditions, regulatory effectiveness, and shareholder approval. The agreement allows share purchases at 93% of a three-day low volume-weighted average price, plus a 3% draw fee, and caps initial issuance at 4,044,975 shares, raising the risk of substantial dilution if the company draws on the facility before demonstrating revenue traction.

Marketplace Launch Still Pending

AIxCrypto introduced its RoboShare platform and website in June, targeting initial marketplace activity in August and first revenue in the third quarter, subject to operational readiness and revenue-recognition requirements. As of now, the company has not demonstrated that its marketplace can generate recognized revenue quickly enough to avoid further crypto sales or discounted equity draws. The next key milestones will be completed rentals, repeat usage, and revenue appearing in financial statements, rather than additional product announcements.

AIxCrypto's situation echoes broader challenges faced by crypto treasury companies navigating volatile markets and investor skepticism. For example, a recent AI-driven review flagged thousands of potential vulnerabilities across Bitcoin-related projects, highlighting the operational and security risks that can compound financial pressures for firms holding significant digital assets.

Based on company filings, AIxCrypto's cash and cash equivalents fell from $19.33 million on December 31, 2025, to $577,328 on June 30, 2026. The company reported a $10.27 million net loss for the first half of 2026, with $7.94 million used in operations and $12 million allocated to Faraday Future securities. Digital asset holdings dropped in fair value from $10.25 million to $5.21 million over the same period, with Bitcoin representing 52% of the portfolio as of June 30, 2026.

When crypto companies allocate treasury funds to volatile assets or related-party investments, they expose themselves to rapid swings in liquidity and solvency risk. Conditional funding facilities, such as discounted equity lines, may offer a lifeline but often come with significant dilution and execution risk-especially when operational revenue remains unproven. For startups like AIxCrypto, the ability to convert product launches into recognized revenue will likely determine whether they can avoid further asset sales or shareholder dilution in the months ahead.
