Tokenized equities saw a sharp rise in adoption, with holders doubling to 1.31 million and monthly transfer volume reaching $23.13 billion, as platforms like Ondo, xStocks, and bStocks lead the sector

The market for tokenized stocks has experienced a dramatic surge in activity over the past month, with the number of holders more than doubling to 1.31 million and monthly transfer volume climbing 179% to $23.13 billion, according to data from RWA.xyz. This rapid growth highlights the increasing appeal of blockchain-based equity products, as both retail and institutional participants seek new ways to access traditional financial assets through digital infrastructure.

Platforms Drive Sector Expansion

Three platforms-Ondo, Kraken's xStocks, and Binance's bStocks-now account for the majority of distributed value in the tokenized equities sector. Ondo leads with approximately $872 million in distributed value, followed by xStocks at $557.8 million and bStocks at $521.8 million. Notably, Binance launched bStocks in June 2026, and the platform has quickly narrowed the gap with xStocks, trailing by just $36 million. The sector's total distributed value rose 5.9% over the past month to $2.38 billion, while monthly active addresses increased 34.62% to nearly 572,000, signaling broader user engagement.

Asset Concentration and SpaceX Demand

Among individual tokenized assets, Securitize holds the largest distributed value at $145.2 million, with Strategy PP Variable xStock and Ondo's tokenized Circle shares following at $135.6 million and $99.7 million, respectively. Demand for tokenized exposure to SpaceX has been particularly strong since the company's June 12 public-market debut. Binance's bStocks product, which offers tokenized SpaceX exposure, has reached $67.9 million in distributed value, placing it seventh among tracked assets. Earlier this year, several crypto platforms-including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Bitget, and Blockchain.com-introduced pre-IPO and private-market products focused on SpaceX. However, some campaigns were canceled and subscriptions refunded after xStocks was unable to secure sufficient underlying shares to meet demand.

Broader Tokenization Trend

The surge in tokenized equities is part of a wider movement toward real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, which aims to bring traditional financial instruments onto blockchain networks. Standard Chartered has projected that the total market for tokenized RWAs could reach $4 trillion by the end of 2028. This trend is drawing attention from both established financial institutions and crypto-native platforms, as they compete to offer new products and capture market share. The rapid growth in tokenized stocks mirrors similar developments in other asset classes, such as tokenized loans and real estate, as seen in related coverage of blockchain-based lending volume doubling in recent quarters. For example, the expansion of tokenized asset privacy features on XRPL, discussed in a recent EgonCoin report, reflects the sector's ongoing focus on security and regulatory compliance.

According to RWA.xyz, the tokenized equities sector's monthly transfer volume reached $23.13 billion in the most recent 30-day period, up 179% from the previous month. The number of monthly active addresses climbed to nearly 572,000, a 34.62% increase, while the total distributed value across tracked platforms rose to $2.38 billion. Ondo, xStocks, and bStocks collectively account for over $1.95 billion of that value, underscoring the concentration of activity among leading platforms.

Tokenized stocks represent digital claims to underlying equity shares, but the legal, regulatory, and operational frameworks supporting these products vary widely by platform and jurisdiction. While tokenization can improve settlement speed and broaden access, it also introduces new risks related to custody, counterparty exposure, and regulatory uncertainty. U.S. investors considering tokenized equities should carefully review platform disclosures, eligibility requirements, and the nature of the underlying asset claims before participating. As the sector evolves, ongoing developments in privacy, compliance, and secondary-market liquidity will shape the practical utility and adoption of tokenized financial products.
